Exciting spots to get married in Newcastle

We take a look at lovely locations for your ceremony within easy distance of the city’s hotels

No day is like your wedding day. A unique moment preserved forever in your memory, which you share with those you love and care for. It’s understandable that so many of us strive to make it extra special.

That’s why we’ve been doing some research into excellent spots in Newcastle for a distinctive wedding to remember – at locations that will let you return to your chosen hotel with ease.

When it comes to picking accommodation, this is often the easiest part of the wedding period – Newcastle’s modern city centre is full of excellent options.

Millennium Hotels’ Newcastle property, located on the Quayside with its glass atrium and beautiful interiors, is an excellent spot for booking a honeymoon suite – and housing the rest of the family too.  If you’re looking to explore the city – and get out and about for the wedding – then Millennium’s offering really is one of the best Newcastle hotels available.

One of our favourite spots for an alternative ceremony is at the city’s most impressive monument to city pride and talent – Newcastle United Football Club.

Imagine having the entire stadium to yourself – as well as top-class chefs and your own reception room!

The very special reception can accommodate large numbers, which is perfect if you’re having a big ceremony.  NUFC offers an exclusive breakfast reception, which is priced at £46 per person, and includes a three course wedding breakfast as well as photos with views of the pitch.

We were very taken by the idea of an early wedding reception, as this gives you and your guests the option to explore Newcastle’s excellent nightlife in a less formal way for the evening. We think that a bit of an afternoon break following the ceremony, then another big meal in a local restaurant or hotel, can lead to a really relaxed and fun-loving night out. All within easy taxi journeys of each other.

If you’re happy to move a little further out and have the option of a coach hire (this is perfect for slightly smaller wedding parties of around 50), do not hesitate to investigate the Beamish Hall Country House, actually located in County Durham, 7 miles from Newcastle City Centre. You can get married here without staying – and it makes a beautiful day out and afternoon reception spot, only a short drive back to the city centre.
